UV Rays and Climbing Rope

The UV rays are capable of damaging the outer sheath of the rope. Nowadays, all rope sheaths are specifically treated to be UV resistant. However, the UV rays can still break the rope down. The brighter rope colors that are actually more popular to use (look flashier) will break degrade the fastest.

To take care of the rope, do not leave it out in the sun unnecessarily. The rope should be stored in a bag and preferably indoors for storage.
